No need to manually go through hundreds or thousands of items – select the products, choose a text style, and Pilot generates the copy for your entire catalog. All within your existing Mergado plan, at no extra charge.

What you need to use it

All you need is an active project in Mergado Editor. Simply activate Mergado Pilot and use it like any other rule in Mergado.

How Mergado Pilot works

Pilot is set up just like any other rule in Mergado:

1. Query – Define which products the rule should apply to – **all products, or just a specific queries (e.g. products without a description, a chosen category, etc.).

2. Element – Choose which element you want to process, i.e. whether you want to edit the product name or description.

3. Prompt – Pick one of the pre-built text styles, or choose the custom prompt option and write your own instruction for how the names or descriptions should be created. Use the Edit prompt button to fine-tune the style.

• Enable Strict mode if you want the AI to work only from data in the feed and not add anything extra.

4. Settings – Give the rule a clear name and save it.

5. Application – The rule joins the other rules in the project. Check the result in the product preview, then apply the rule. Afterwards, regenerate the feed. For large feeds, regeneration needs to be repeated several times, because processing a large number of products with AI takes more time and may not complete in a single pass.

Tip: First test the rule on a small query of products. Once you're happy with the result, expand the query to your entire catalog.

Important: Pilot only changes data in the feed – it does not modify products in your online store.

• Factual and informative – Writes precisely and to the point, highlighting specific parameters to support decision-making.
• Friendly and easy to understand – Writes as if giving advice to a friend, emphasizing the main benefit.
• Energetic and punchy – Writes with energy and a touch of flair, focused on the experience and using strong verbs. Custom prompt – Give Pilot your own instructions for how the newly generated names or descriptions should look.

Strict mode

Need to be sure the AI won't make anything up? Enable strict mode – Pilot will then work exclusively from data in the feed and won't add any extra information. Without strict mode, the text can be freely enriched and paraphrased.

• Why does the feed need to be regenerated multiple times after applying the rule? AI processing takes longer than standard rules. For large feeds, not all products may be processed in a single pass. Regenerating multiple times ensures Pilot processes all items.
• Can I try Pilot on a small sample first? Yes, and we recommend it. Apply the rule to a small query of products first, check the result in the preview, and only then expand it to the full catalog.
